Gentlemen, there is a poem that about sums up some of Aus. http://users.chariot.net.au/~kday/australiansongs.html (or copy into your browser). The site also includes Waltzing Matilda (and an American-English explanation of the words). I live a few hundreds of kms South of Victoria, with a rather large lot of water between. I have a few friends & relations tied up in what's happening (most of my friends are OK, if a bit singed or not involved at present, & my relations are in Albury - near NSW border - so should also be OK). It is not good news and some of the fires are still burning. It is pretty certain that the number of dead will climb a fair way above 200.
