I have a major problem here. I have upgraded my rig to Windows XP SP3 and I can't get my Gettysburg, Shiloh, Bull Run games to load up. I click on the set up icon and nothing happens except it changes the screen from 32 bit to 8 bit. It didn't do this before the update and I don't have the foggiest idea how to get them to load up.

Anybody help an old Reb?

It is probably best to re-install the games. There should not be any difference in the game play from XP SP1,2 or 3. My BG games play with my XP SP3 laptop.

If you need help about re-installing the games, let me know.

I do NOT know if this would work, but you might try setting the games compatibility mode to Windows 95. To do this, select the desktop icon for each game (or the actual .exe file in the game folder) and RIGHT click, then select the Compatibility tab. You will then see the check box for Windows 95. I do not know if that will help any.

Thank you Suh, but the problem is not in getting the games to load up, but to getting them installed. I put them in the hard drives and the auto run spools up but that is as far as they go. I open up the folder and click on the set up icon and the drives rev up but do not go into the install. Have tried the Run box and nothing. I put in my Ghost Recon disks and they load up no problem. But all my Talonsoft games : BG, TAOW1&2, will not load up.

ANy ideas? I'm probably going to pull the hard drive and reformat it tomorrow with Norton Ghost.

Kind of frustrating.[:(]

First, you still have all the games on your hard drive, so you changed NOTHING on the HD except to install SP3 for XP??

Why are you re-installing the games, then?

If the games ran before XP SP3, then they should run now, unless you made some other changes. Try the suggestion in my previous post.

Now, if you did nothing else and you want to re-install the games, place the game CD into the drive and use windows explorer to access the CDROM drive, select the SETUP.EXE and install the games. The reason that setup does not AUTORUN is because you still have the original install of the games.
