American Civil War Game Club (ACWGC)

I notice that the new patch does ADF by stack rather than individual unit. It does make the defensive fire go quickly, and the massed fire packs a hefty punch. The problem I see is that it sees to concentrate all the fire from the stack on the same unit. I don't know how it decides which unit to fire at or if it is random. It is also something I haven't seen before. Is there a way to deselect it? Not so bad if the stack inflicts 50 casualties on a 500-man unit, but pretty frustrating if it takes out the ten-man unit stacked with it.

No, I don't know how it picks a target, but speed wasn't the reason, rather it was to make the AI a more potent player. The likelihood of the 10 man unit being targeted is unlikely or at worst, rare.
