"General Sickles, this is in some respects higher ground than that to the rear, but there is still higher in front of you, and if you keep on advancing you will find constantly higher ground all the way to the mountains."

Yeah, I took out an account a month ago, and geez!, but what a bunch of inane and inconsequential drivel shows up on my wallpaper page, not to mention solicitations to join groups for role playing games, support causes, and just be friends or relatives of people who I don't know and am not related to, other than as a member of the human race. [:D][8]
At this point, I will certainly never join "twitter." [;)]

Make yourself sheep and the wolves will eat you." -- Benjamin Franklin

"A society of sheep must in time beget a government of wolves." -- Bertrand de Jouvenal

"If once [the people] become inattentive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, Judges and Governors, shall all become wolves. It seems to be the law of our general nature, in spite of individual exceptions." -- Thomas Jefferson to Edward Carrington, 1787

"The penalty good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men." - Plato

"No matter who you are or what you believe, you have to understand that some day the worst control-freaks among your bitterest enemies will control the federal government, and you better have restored effective, working constitutional limitations on that government before that time arrives."-Rick Gaber

Either you think — or else others have to think for you and take power from you, pervert and discipline your natural tastes, civilize and sterilize you. - F. Scott Fitzgerald, “Tender Is the Nightâ€

"Any people, anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable and most sacred right - a right which we hope and believe is to liberate the world. Nor is this right confined to cases in which the whole people of an existing government may choose to exercise it. Any portion of such people, that can may revolutionize and make their own of so many of the territory as they inhabit."

Abraham Lincoln
January 12, 1848.
