Congratulations Captain Marx! Although our game looks to be a draw, you did recover like a champ and brought it all back. You played like a general which rank I'm sure you will achieve with no problem. Unfortunately you are on the wrong side, but that's war for you.
Gentlemen,

Please join me in welcoming Major General David Peek who is returning to the AotM after a lengthy sabatical. General Peek is a veteran Officer with 5 Years of Prior service in the Army of the Mississippi. He is taking command of 3rd Bde, 2nd Division, I Corps under the command of Lt Col Neal Hebert.

I'm a bit of a card player... and it looks to me that Colonel Hebert is developing a bit of a stacked deck in his Division there. If I were the Yanks... I'd be really careful about messing with them!

Major General Peek... WELCOME! <salute>

General Nelms,

As an officer of the 2nd Division, 1st Corps, AotM, I take exception to your last posted comment concerning "Unwashed Rebs". Like most other Condfederate officers we manage to bath weekly and if concerned about vermin infestation I would be kind enough to have you deloused at no expense to you sir. In fact, if you are courageous enough I would be glad to talk it over with you at my command headquarters near Ringgold, Georgia. In fact we could hash things out over a chance meeting at Chickamauga? That is if you are not too busy bathing, getting your nails manicured, or your moustache waxed. You may send a courier to my command tent anytime.

Officer's of the AotM,

I was wandering the Mason-Dixon Tavern this morning and stopped to listen to some poor Union Captain crying about the horrors of Confederate Cavalry (Topic: Union Lament). The next thing I know... Brig. General McOmish walks into the room with the most refined Southern Lady on his arm. At first, I thought perhaps it was General McOmish's wife but I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it was his sister. [;)]

Oh course, being the fine Southern gentleman that I am... and already happily married to a wonderful woman myself... I thought of all the young Bachelor's in my command. [:)]

Gentlemen, it is my honor to introduce to you one of the South's finest eligible Belle's... Miss McOmish!

Image

Lt Colonel Hebert... do you think that Nicodemus would agree to be Miss McOmish's personal escort while she is here visiting with us? I should not like any ill mannered Yank to wander in and accost her refined Southern sensibilities.

Gents and Yanks be vary wary of my fine sister, she is currently looking for her 5th Husband. If you are still game then she is taking names for her dance card for the Western Command Christmas Ball – Vicksburg 12 December 1863

The comment about the pole Gen Ringbloom was most un-gentlemanly even for a Yank

That fine example of Southern Womanhood looks like a young lady I knew quite well when I would travel through NZ when I was in the Navy "SEABEES" in the early 80's. She had a Tattoo just above her pubic line which read "slipper when WET" [:D] HMMMMMMMM [:p][:p][:p] If she is looking for number 5 ya'll can send her my way [;)]. General McOmish isn't time for some tavern raiding, my throat is getting dry

Respectfully,

Gentlemen <salute>

Oh my, where do I begin?

General Hulinsky, Nicodemus would be most honored to escort Miss McOmish. I can guarantee that she will not be bothered by any Yankee ruffians while he is around, and if any doubt his skills they should review my post from November 14th displaying his newly acquired "Yankee sidearm".

General Peek, It is an honor to have you in the 2nd Division, I Corps, Army of the Mississippi. Your reputation precedes you and I look forward to our service together. Yanks beware; we won't be waiting for you to mess with us.

General Reneau, stick it to the man [:D]

General Nelms, prepare to be at the pointy end of the bayonet (that's three sylables). I will order General Reneau to bathe before he runs you through.

General Ringbloom, our divisions should dance at some point; your slime-colored banner to be ransomed off for the return of the captured IV Corps colors.

My compliments,

Lt Col Neal Hebert
2nd Division, I Corps, AotM
Adjutant, VMI

Gery,

We could do some tavern raiding, but there ain't much fun in it any more - all the taverns (except the VMI and AoG)are near dead[xx(] - although I do not know about the Winchester Arms, never been in there - they tell me it is a bit of a 2 bit sleazy dive ....[?]. But they would be to scared to invite two good old boys in[:D]

Gents,

I should have known better than to try to introduce a refined Southern Lady to the likes of Y'ALL! Why I think even Lt General Hodgkiss would have acted much more dignified! Even if the young Lady has been married 4 times already! [;)]

I am glad that Brig. General McOmish has announced the upcoming Western Command Christmas Ball on December 12th. I will inform Mrs. Hulinsky so that she can begin her preparations as she's quite a seamstress and will probably sew her own dress. But I'm a bit worried about Lt General Bastiani... he's a bit rough around the edges, which is fine on the battlefield but at the Christmas Ball... my oh my... someone is going to have to reign him in a bit! General Hulinsky Suh,
No need to reign me in [^], that was back in my wild days, now I just a big ole ***** cat [:D] just ask my wife [B)]and two daughters[:)]. I'll be dressed in my newest dress grays, spit shined boots, razor sharp saber to shave some yankee sideburns. Wonder if any of our memberships are SHELLBACKS or still polliwogs [:D] General McOmish I guess you are right, all of the tavern have shut down. All dried up and blown away.[:(]

Gentlemen,

I've just received another batch of promotions and awards for some very worthy AotM Officers. This time we need to assemble the III & IV Corps! Lt General Laabs & Lt Colonel DeStefano... would you please wrangle up Sascha Marx, Stewart Stiles, Bill Keys & Greg Davis? Thank you, gentlemen! <salute>

FRONT & CENTER

MAJOR SASCHA MARX

Image

Sascha... Congratulations on your promotion to Major! I commented on the fact that I hoped I'd be pinning some Major rank on you only two days ago... and here I am doing it! Excellent work, Sir! <salute>

FRONT & CENTER

LT COLONEL STEWART STILES

Image

Congratulations on your promotion, Sir! You must have received your promotion prior to General Adams fixing the promotion notification feature of the DoR... but I caught it on my month end paperwork. (It's a wonder I ever get anything done around here!) You are definitely a rising star in the III Corps, Sir! <salute>

FRONT & CENTER

Brig. General Bill Keys

Image

Sir, it is my pleasure to award you a 4 Year Service Ribbon for your time served in the Army of the Mississippi. Some folks say that service in the AotM is much like a prison sentence but I say it's not true! [;)] Congratulations and thank you! <salute>

Sir, it is my pleasure to award you a 3 Year Service Ribbon for your time served in the Army of the Mississippi. Does it really seem like you've been in the AotM since December 2006? Wow, the time flies! Congratulations and thank you for your service! <salute>

Warmest Regards,
