Roger, erm...General Hulinsky,

I'll pass on the coffee...never drink it. Seriously. Am I the guy that you want to see all hopped up on coffee?

I DID see General Miller snuck off with my flag, and will take you up on the offer to help stitch together a new one. I'm the woist at making them, so stealing Meade's was the best that I could do. I'll send a courier with some ideas.

Thanks,
Rusty

Gen Hodgkiss,

Well sir that was the AoP flag you had borrowed. Now the 8th Corps had a couple of nice flags, I seem to have misplaced the one it used when it was the Army of West Virginia, now that was a beautiful thing to behold, but I still have the 8th Corps pennant if you would care to use it.

Lt General Hodgkiss,
Rusty,

Here's a set of colors I made up in a flash. Don't know if they will appeal to you or not... but they are yours if you want them or I'll try to make you something else if your not into red, white and blue! [;)]

General Hulinsky <salute>

Even though he is quite fond of General Hodgkiss, Nicodemus really liked the "sheeps to the slaughter" flag!

My thanks to my enemy, and best good friend General Hulinsky for the new guidon!

Ken, I appreciate the offer of the 8th Corps banner, but Roger worked on this for me, and well...

Neal..I too liked the sheep to the slaughter flag. It's appropriate, and fits my W/L record to a T. However, the reest of my corps is a hard fightin', hard drinkin', winnin' bunch. Wouldn't have fit for them...

Thanks again Roger

Sir, my compliments! Nicodemus thinks the new colors are very nice, even though he prefers sheep to eagles.

Well, there won't be much unity if some other outfit, especially a Reb one, adopts that flag - it looks an awful (and I mean awful!) lot like the banner of Corcoran's Legion. Are you deliberately taunting us, Roger? Find another design, boys.

General Perrenod,
Matt,

Good evening, Sir! <salute>

Well honestly... I had originally offered a similiar set of colors to Major General Drex Ringbloom as a gift (with the Corcoran's Legion info on it) but he felt that they didn't come close enough to the original design. I certainly can appreciate his desire to be as historically accurate as possible.

Since there were Irish units on both sides of the field... I figured I'd offer up a redesigned set to anyone in the command that might want them. You know we have a few folks of Irish descent in the AotM... General Mallory sounds mighty Irish to me. [;)] And a fella doesn't need to be Irish to carry an Irish Banner into battle if he would choose to do so. He just has to have the gumption to step up and claim them as his own colors... whatever hell may come.

You know me... if I didn't have a set of colors that I already called my own... I might pick up this set as I like a challenge and I think they look mighty nice.

Sir, my compliments!

I can't believe that General Hulinsky would be "deliberately taunting" anyone. He has subordinates for that. A challenge to Corcoran's Legion, an exceptional organization, went out recently and was brushed aside.

Sir, it would appear that the legion is willing to defend their colors around drinks in the Tavern, but not on the field of battle.

Lt.Col. Hebert: Sir, just to let you know that Corcoran's Legion is presently defending their colors on the field of battle against General Whitehead and other Southern veterans. My brigade commanders have between them, at least 138 battle ribbons and honors, including the MOH, and over 8 years of conflict, have never lost a battle together. Such a record is not made in a tavern and never will be.

Sir, I viewed the OBD of each of your division's commanders some weeks ago and agree that it is an excellent command with an impressive record. Of course this places a target on your backs, and there's always a first time.

My compliments sir,

Gents,
Wow, all this ruckus over a flag?

I admit, I want the old IV Corps flag back as badly as anyone (even Roger, I think) seeing as I took over for Roger shortly after he "misplaced" it, but if the Yankee's have a full dance card then the have a full dance card.

Roger, I will say I really like your craftsmanship with the flag you made, very stylish! I should comission you to rework the new IV Corps flag since you've taken over as the Un-Official Master Seamstress of the Confederate States Army!

I also thought I'd bring my brand new Corps standard along with me, since this is a flag shin-dig. Hope it strikes fear into the callow hearts of the Yanks!

Regards,
<salute>

Lt. Col. Nick DeStefano,

Sir, minus the 'stars n bars', your flag looks like the emblem of an elementary school near here. Maybe you should rename your corps ...

"Wolf-cubs" ? hehehe....

General Amos,
I like it, but alas, my Corps already has the appropriate appellation of "The Wolf-Pack", maybe newly minted Lieutenants should be known as "The Wolf-Cubs" when they get assigned...hmm bears some thought...
