Gentlemen of the AotM,

As most of you know... the Army of the Mississippi has been engaged in an IntraArmy Tournament, which we refer to as the "King of the Hill" Tourney. The web page for the tournament is located here:

Round Two of the Tournament is now completed and a number of Officer's are already many turns into their matches for Round Three. Here is the KotH - Round One Winner's Ribbon, which has been awarded to all of the following Officer's.

Gentlemen,

I've just received news of some more promotions from the WTC Headquarters. The AotM has two more officers who have been promoted to Captain! That makes a total of four new Captains in the AotM for the month! Wow!

This time both of our newly promoted Officers are from the IV Corps! Lt Col DeStefano... would you please wrangle up Mike Wells and Tom Wight? Thank you, Sir! <salute>

Gentlemen <salute>

Captains Wells and Wight, my congratulations on your promotions! It has indeed been a good month for the Army of the Mississippi, and unfortunately for the Yankees I believe our future will be even brighter. Well done gentlemen!

Nicodemus has volunteered to spring for the first round of drinks, as he found General Hulinsky's private stock while snooping around. A toast to the Army of the Mississippi!

Gentlemen,

In the process of working on my Army Report for the month of October... I discovered a number of AotM Officer's whose recent promotions had yet to be announced. Tonight our promotions come from III Corps and IV Corps! Lt General Laabs and Lt Col DeStefano... would you please wrangle up Stewart Stiles, Herb Nagel, Earle Cook and Ian Travers? Thank you, gentlemen! <salute>

<center>Image</center>

Gentlemen... Congratulations on your promotions! In fact, this is the second promotion for Stewart Stiles for the month as he was promoted to Captain and then again to Major. Shucks, I doubt he even got his Captain's rank sewed on his uniform before his next promotion arrived! Good job, Sir!

Gentlemen <salute>

With all of these promotions I fear we may be celebrating more than fighting!

Lt Col Nagel, Lt Col Cook and Major Travers I offer my congratulations on your promotions! Continued to success to each of you, although as I'm currently engaged against Lt Col Nagel in the KotH not too much success [:D]

Gentlemen,

Good Morning! Would you like to share a cup of captured Yank coffee?

Major General Paul Kenney and I captured it from Major General David Groce's personal stash in a battle that we were involved in last week. The coffee was wrapped in a heavy piece of paper and I noticed some strange markings on it as I was pouring the coffee into the pot.

What do you make of it?

<center>Image</center>

It rather looks like a map of the western portion of Virginia and on into Ohio. Very strange...

Gentlemen,

Each month the Army of the Mississippi awards the AotM "Citation for Gallantry" to the Officer who has the most completed victory turns versus Union opponents. This month our award winner is Colonel Robert Hardee who completed 90 turns in the two Major Victories he won this month! Congratulations, Sir! <salute>

Here is your ribbon, which has been posted to the AotM web page!

<center>Image</center>

And your Proof of Citation certificate.

Congratulations on your achievement, Sir!

Gentlemen <salute>

My congratulations to Colonel Hardee on his being awarded the Citation for Gallantry, as well as his two battle citations. Rob, my compliments for the fine manner in which you've represented the 2nd Division, I Corps. You do our division proud!

My congratulations also to Major General Kenney and Lieutenant Colonel DeStefano for their achievements on the battlefield. The Army of the Mississippi is stepping up the pressure and not to be taken lightly.

Keep up the fire!

General Hulinsky <salute>

Sir, what might this map of Ohio and the western part of Virginia mean? I realize there may be northern spies snooping around, however Nicodemus has a very good nose for this type of vermin.

My regards,

Looks like some rebs spies have been looking in on our homes whilst we have been in the field crushing the rebellion beneath the heels of our boots!

Oh heck... I thought I'd concealed all the notations on the map! Why does this always happen to me? [:(]

Rusty... are those the actual birthplaces of those Yankee Generals? Or did you make them up? Heck, you're almost in West Virginia!

BTW... I noticed you didn't mark the hometowns of the Stoops and Pelini families? What's up with that? [;)]

They are the actual hometowns. Sheridan was born in NY but grew up in Ohio. Custer's childhood home is about a 30 minute drive from my house. (I am right on the Ohio River, so yeah, almost WVa.) Rosecrans ended up buying a home, and eventually died, in Redondo Beach, right down the street from Pat.

BTW...congrats on the big win vs the Sooners!
