Have a good trip Matt!

But he went on the trip last month! Probably absorbed too much salt water.

General Perrenod <salute>

My compliments sir! Have you transferred over to blockade duty? I pray you find smooth sailing.

I also wanted to express my compliments to the other Yankee officers who have replied thus far. General Hodgkiss and Captain Waldron, I pray things are well. General Simms, I do not recall that I've had the honor, however I believe you've met Nicodemus [:D]

The two of us have met, Lt Col Hebert - from the Round Top to Cemetery Hill in a MP game between our two armies/corps. So that isn't Nicodemus hide that I had made into new boots? Sure hope that Nicodemus isn't bigger than that one or my mule is in big trouble!

As for General Perrenod, he is a fine sailor and you should be alarmed that the Chesapeake extends as far south as Norfolk. A platoon of Union elite infantry should be enough to take Richmond from the rear. Of course, there was that boom accident on board his boat last year and ever since the poor man hasn't been able to keep up with what month it is.

General Simms <salute>

Sir, my compliments! You are correct in that our forces have certainly met on the field of battle, however I wasn't sure that I'd had the pleasure of corresponding directly with you.

The Yankee forces are certainly putting up a heck of a scrap at Gettysburg, however I am pleased to report that Nicodemus is still well and sends his compliments.

My highest regards,

Gentlemen -

I've returned from my reconnaisance at Portsmouth to report that the Merrimac is gone! Rumors that the Rebs have fixed iron sheets to her and renamed her the Virginia cannot be confirmed, however, as there is no evidence of that sort of work anytime within the last 150 years.

Participated in the Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race on a 125-foot boat the Liberty Clipper. Wet, cold & windy, perfect for sailing! We trailed most of the field, but a good time had by all. Planning a blockade mission in the Bahamas this January.
