I have noticed over the past year that the use of 50% of our Army Taverns (there are a couple Northern ones I cannot get into -something about being over dressed) appear to be dieing off?. Some of them have not been used for months/years. There is no point in raiding a Tavern that is not used - free booze yes, but no company.

It may be sign of the times[:(], but it would be good to bring back a bit of fun and lively pointless debate

I am not keen to hang up my tavern raiding spurs, but it is looking like it will happen - at least my liver will be grateful.

Any ideas why it is happening[?]

It's very true. A couple of times I have planned to post queries about specific situations in various scenarios to ask advice and opinions...but find the tavern is empty and appears rarely used.

Has club membership fallen in recent months/years? How many members are active compared to previous history of the club?

I joined to play the games. The taverns are great for info, but one can only joke about whipping the rebs enough and it's old talk.
My problem is finding any rebs serious to play a campaign. I know everyone is busy (i have 4 kids and work 12 hour shifts, so put that in your busy pipe and smoke it!). It takes the fun out of any game when the opposite player doesn't make a move for over a week or 2 and then has to be prodded to make a move.
I have met some great rebs and have fun when they move, but how does one stay interested in a game when there is barely any movement and needs to be reminded to move?

If you do not POST, then things WOULD seem slow.

It is a normal cycle. Sometimes there are flurries of activity, but lately (in this forum)there has been a steady amount of messages and responses.

I do not think membership has declined to any extent and membership seems steady.

RL issues seems to be the most common reason for any decline in posting.

I look at the posts in both of the Union only taverns every day to see if anything new is posted, so if you post there I, for one, will answer up.

As far as posts on this forum it gets a reasonable amount of traffic, up and down but fairly constant. Just not a lot of frivolous posting that you see on other sites here.
