General Mullins Sir:

We see other times HPS and Talonsoft games have mistakes in uniforms, photos and leaders and even oob.
This is a good page to look for information of zouave units.

Update:
The website address has changed due to the fact that we have lost contact with one of our team (Ed, Bonemash)who was dealing with this side of things. We have not heard from him for about 6 weeks and we are concerned not for the site or work but for Ed himself. If anyone has some info please contact me.
Here is the new address.

http://old-banshee.yolasite.com/

Chancellorsville is still the only title at the moment but we have added an Anon units Bmp and Anon Leaders Bmp. The leaders Bmp is still in the art department being worked on. I have added a links page, only a few links on it at the moment but more will follow.
Please let me know if you have issues or feed-back.

Again we are looking for recruits to our team if you feel you have something to offer this great club (ACWGC) please step forward....

Just a quick update on the progress regarding the general icons.
There are 108 union generals coloured up and about 10 confederate. 0 to 70 in order and a few others, doubles ie Meade as a corps commander and an army commander. We had hoped to have this completed for Christmas but real life got in the way. Ed, I have not heard from for a while and I am really concerned about him so if anyone is in the know please let me know he is alright. Jim and myself have been swamped. So we hope to get back on track soon. Jim may have a good few other icons done I am waiting on an update from him.
All the best Frank.

Ok gents just a progress report. I have been very busy with real life and have not been able to do much. However I have put a workshop page up at the site with the progress of the leader bitmap. (link below)
There is a jpeg of the status and also the file in a zip. It is a PDN file which is used with paint.net allowing layers. If you have not checked out this awsome free art package then you are really missing something. The link for it is on the links page.

A big thankyou to Jim for all your help and Ed wherever you are you are sorely missed.
All the best Guy's

All Union generals are coloured and we have started work on the confederates there are a few done now. The site has been updated with a image for you to see.

I would like some suggestions as to the best way to show the corps and divisions breakdown ie which division belongs to which corps for the confederates as they have'nt the same system as the union army. I have the 1st and 2nd Corps (Jackson and Longstreetr)done and am quite happy with their images but what would be the best way to show their divisions. I thought of different flags or the frame surround could be a different colour let me have your ideas.
I would like to stick to historically correct ways if possible.

General Frank Mullins, stalwart officer of the Union Army of the Tennessee and long-time club member, has finally completed work on a modification of the unit and leader graphic files for HPS Chancellorsville. Frank has produced a very high quality and very colorful alternative to the standard, black and white photo-like graphics that are originally included. His use of historical flags as backgrounds for both the leader and individual combat units makes for an interesting and eye-catching addition to the game. Downloading is pretty straightforward, a simple replacement of the existing graphical files in the INFO folder of the game, and the OOB files in the main folder. However, as Frank points out, one should make backup copies of the orginal files in case you want to change back.

The modified set actually includes two choices when it comes to the leader files: a standard modification that uses the same background flags for all officers, and an "enhanced" modification that includes historical designating flags where known for the different, various command levels. Both the leader and unit graphics are very expertly rendered, with a wealth of different poses and uniforms displayed. As a word of caution, once you've installed these beauties, you may find yourself taking a lot more time per turn as you'll be tempted to closely examine every unit on the board, pouring over all of the detail and color that have gone into these things.

It's things like this that really add a level of enjoyment and interest to these games and that reaffirms our expectations of what can be done with a little effort and commitment. General Frank Mullins has given us all a very nice gift! AND IT'S ONLY THE BEGINNING!

Joe,
first off many thanks for these kind words they are fantastic and an incentive to carry on and produce more of the same modifications for what I believe is the best wargame engine for the PC format out there, thankyou HPS. I cannot accept all the credit for this project. I may have began this project and set up the Old Banshee team but I feel I should draw attention to two people who deserve as much credit for their efforts as myself. My team consists of two other members firstly Jim Wilkes who has kept me on track with this project and I really believe without his support and his friendship I could not have completed this project. Secondly Ed Stewart who at the begining helped me with getting the leaders bitmap going. I am part of a team and we produce these mods as a team and they deserve the credit as much as I do.
Again Thankyou for this feedback.
All the best
The Old Banshee Team

Considering one of the major themes for fighting the war, does the title of this thread seem odd to anyone else?
