<Salute>

Most likely a newbie Union whiner observation, but it seems to me that the Rebel horse are just way too good. Most likely I just need to play better.

You are mistaken, Captain. YOu will find that we here in the Union Army can give as much as we get. A lot of the problems that young officers have is trying to deal with E and D class troops that run away from Southern Ladies Academies. Once you figure out how to overcome these odds (i.e...cheat [;)]) I am sure you will be fine.

Don't lament, they may not break but I love shooting those raggedy boys right out of the saddle for the points you get. Just be sure to keep a regiment or two handy to prevent them surrounding you and enjoy the shooting.

Captain Elkin <salute>

It may be easier if you just change sides[:D] Better uniform, pay, women, drink - and there is even more - so if you have a mind do drop by my HQ and we can fill in your application[8D]

Captain Elkin,

My goodness, Sir... I would definitely take Brig. General McOmish's suggestion and fill out that application.

Why it is most dreadful... that dirty 5 letter word that Major General Roubaud referred to! Why Sir... any Officer who would willingly place himself under the instruction of our fine Instructors at the Vickburg Military Academy would never have to resort to such treachery! It's absolutely unbecoming of an Officer... [:(]

But of course, by cheating... I know that General Roubaud is simply referring to the fact that these here games favor the Yankees in nearly every catagory... but I always liked the challenge of playing for the underdog. It makes the Victories oh so much more satisfying! [;)]

As for General Nelms comments about shooting those raggedy boys out of the saddle... you should know he's one of those ambulance riding Generals and has a gatling gun set up on the back. That's the only way he's going to shoot some good Southern boys out of the saddle! [:p]

I'll have you know that a properly equiped ambulance is the perfect ride in going out to dispatch your ill mannered lot. Alas, no Gatling gun needed though, I just flash pictures of your sisters at those Southern boys and they just faint dead away.

Why! I had no idea that General McOmish was my brother-in-law!

"General Sickles, this is in some respects higher ground than that to the rear, but there is still higher in front of you, and if you keep on advancing you will find constantly higher ground all the way to the mountains."

General Hulinsky, sir

Tsk, Tsk Tsk. Taking poor General Roubaud to task for using a five lettered word when you lie so well, you silvery tongued devil.

You know as well as I that there is at LEAST one rule in the HPS series that definitely slants the game engine to your favor. Of course, that is probably necessary to reflect the obvious difference between some officers in the late war of the rebellion, and thus maintain some degree of balance in our present situations.

Lt Col Jack Waldron
2nd Bde/1st Div/XIX Corps/AoS/USA

"My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom." William T Sherman
