Just a quick update.....Larry "Notso" Quick and I have been hammering out and testing the recruiting engine and finalizing it...We now hav a version that crunches the numbers and recruits each army in about the historical total numbers over the course of the war AND it spits out playable text file oobs for Corinth in a completely replayable fashion....Play it a hundred times and it will be somewhat different evry time.....We are now working on the Player Interface sheets for the President and Generals to interact with their Amies and Commands respectively.....It's coming along nicely......

David,

Larry says hello and feel free to email him....

UPDATE:

We just got past one hurdle in the OOB spreadsheet that the players will be using to edit their commands....Here is the formula for determining whethr or not a units quality will rise after being in a battle......

=IF(OR(IF(AND(D7<3,F7<C7*0.951),1,0)=1,IF(AND(D7<3,F7<C7,A7>0.5),1,0)=1,IF(AND(D7=3,F7<C7,A7>0.5),1,0)=1,IF(AND(D7=4,F7<C7,A7>0.667),1,0)=1,IF(AND(D7=5,F7<C7,A7>0.8),1,0)=1),D7+1,D7)

I have to give Larry credit on this one.....I don't think I'd have figured it out on my own any time soon.......However, all this brings up a point and a question for those of you who will be playing......While you won't have to be able to do anything complicated with Excel, you will have to be able to open an Excel spreadsheet.....Are any of you lacking Microsoft Office?

If so, we will have to make sure it all works in Open Office......

So kindly let me know if you lack MS Office.....

Well, I noticed that B7 and E7 are missing from Hank's formula.

I, for one, would like to know where they are! [:D][:p][:p][:p]

And exactly what to A - F mean? [:0]

Work as hard as you like, Gents, there are many of us who are interested.

If you need some spreadsheet help, Hank, Notso, just call.

Regards

We are now needing to add the ability for commanders to drill their troops and increase quality in that manner....It should be short work to add that to the existing though....Oh yeah, and B7 and E7 are "Yankee" cells and so quite naturally they are skulking around somewhere behind the lines, probably robbing civilians or molesting females.....
