Gentlemen, I am considering a restart of the "Fight The War" campaign game. I have spent a great deal of time rewriting the recruiting engine and simplifying the economics of the game. The essense of the effort remains unchanged, it is just far more playable strategically for the participants. Having said that, I would wish to know which of you would be interested in participating should I start the effort. You do have to own Corinth as all of the battles are original, one of a kind "Mods".....If you are unfamiliar with the campaign, feel free to ask questions.... You would need version 1.01......That patch is still available at a couple of sites that I can point you to.....I have a separate install of Corinth solely for running user created mods.....All you have to do is copy your Corinth game into a different folder and rename it.....Then install the 1.01 patch...... Yes I am interested. But some questions. How long is this campaign, like does it take a year to play? Is it mainly large battles with several corps that take a long time to play a turn? Is it suitable for multiplayer teams? Respectfully, Brigadier General Al Baker 3rd Division II Corp AoG csaokie@windstream.net |

FTW is a multiplayer combination strategic-tactical game with a President for each side and plenty of room for "Generals".....When you have a command in FTW, you have to handle it as if it were real because eery casualty is tracked....You lose a soldier and he is gone for the duration of the war....The president makes executive decisions, assigns the generals to their commands, distributes suppies and gives them orders which they must then decide how to implement them, or for that matter whether to implement them.....Yes, multiplayer battles do occur......Getting the 1.01 patch is no problem....It is posted at Ken Miller's site for download.....Fog of War is the best you will ever experience in this game.....You will simply have to develop what you face as you go and get that intelligence to your President.....As for how long it takes, well it could easily take as long as the real war....the only thing I can assure you of is that it will feel much like the real war.....The size of the battles will range from very small affairs with only a few brigades, to battles the size of Gettysburg.....Oh yeah, You will be expected to post battle reports on this forum after any action you are involved in....This is some of the best fun as it is quite amazing just what quality writers some of you Gentlemen (and yes, even some of you Yankees) are.....
