Gentlemen <salute>

It is my honor to report that the Lieutenant's Cup competition for the 4th Quarter of 2009 has ended. A total of 13 battles were concluded during the quarter, with the Confederate officers representing the Vicksburg Military Institute winning by a final score of 9-4. VMI will retain possession of the Loving Cup for another quarter. Six battles are still in progress and have been carried over into the 1st Quarter 2010 competition.

My congratulations to all of the officers who have participated in this competition. The purpose is to introduce new ACWGC members to each other in order to get them active as quickly as possible, as well develop friendships which will hopefully last for years. The VMI Commandant is fond of the quote "It is better to win a friend than to win a battle".

The Lieutenant's Cup page is maintained at the VMI website and is updated regularly. I invite everyone to drop by and visit.

My regards,

Friendships? As long as none of our poor boys are being introduced to the likes of General Hulinsky!!!!

General Hodgkiss <salute>

Sir, my compliments! General Hulinsky is not included in the introductions, however if he happens upon one of the young gentlemen in the tavern I can't help them!

My regards,

I would strongly recommend any new member take part in this introduction method. You meet some tremendous people and gain valuable experience.

Sir, my compliments! Keep singing, however the Yankee's boots were confiscated for use by the fine soldiers of the CSA.
