It could simply be my ineptness, but it seems that Union causilities in this battle are much higher than in other campaign games.

Has anybody else experiecned this issue, or is it just me being as dumb as Hooker. My experience has been as high as 40 to 1 ratios.

Here are the causalities as reported by http://www.civilwarhome.com/chancellors ... escrpt.htm

....the massively outnumbered Confederates drove the Federal army from the battlefield. The cost had been frightful. The Confederates suffered 14,000 casualties, while inflicting 17,000.

Hi, Major,

I playtested some of the day-long scenarios, usually against General Ken Miller. I think the casualties slightly favored the Rebs, but that was because I hid in the woods. Ken would engage me in the woods and replace units that were battered with fresh troops. By the end of the scenario, the Rebs were mighty weary, because they had fewer men. Without knowing the scenario or the options you play, it is difficult to tell why the casualty count is so large. Might be better if you posted this on an internal Yankee strategic forum where you could reap the benefits of the Yankee brain trust. On second thought, smart of you to post it here.[:D]

Do not lead the young officer on the Yankee Brains Trust is just a rumor as you well know. One of those urban myths - never proven. If ya want brains and good looks come on down south [8D][:D]

In short, a 40-1 ratio is not possible, unless:

You're playing with isolation rules and hard ZOCs causing whole units to be eliminated in single attacks.

But in normal ranged fire exchanges, a 40-1 is not possible..

Once I played a joke on one of my playtesters because he would always beat me. I changed the PDT file to greatly favor my firing. So to get a 40-1 ration in normal ranged fire, you whould have to be playing PBEM and your opponent would have had to change the PDT file. So either your opponent is playing a similar joke, or is cheating.

Your welcome to send HPS support a file for review.

General Walker <salute>

I am sure my opponent is fine as I have played him before, so that is not the issue. However, I may be playing with hard ZOC because I did not re-set game when I started. I bet that is it! I appreciate your insight.
