In April, I'll be back home in western NC (about halfway between Hickory and Lenoir). In June, will move somewhere in the western half of the state (somewhere between Burlington and Murphy!).

I live in Florida but I am from North Carolina and all my people are still there. I was born in Asheboro, raised in Rocky Mount and spent my last 10 years there between Atlantic Beach and Wilmington. I'll be back in about 10 years I hope.

Born and raised in the North Nick. I was just fortunate enough to marry a Southern Belle from NC and move here. I do prefer the weather down here. [:D]

No, sir, you are not. I live in Charlotte (although there are plenty of people in this state who don't count it as part of NC [:D])

Gentlemen <salute>

I'm surprised at the number of Yankee officers living in North Carolina. I pray ya'll don't run around town in them Yankee uniforms, as it may be hazardous to your well-being [B)]

It's damnyankees, Phil. It's one word in the South... [8D]

Within the last year or two, there was a really good article in the Charlotte Observor, one of those fun editorials some of their guys do, explaining the difference between a yankee (someone from the north who comes to visit) and a damnyankee (the ones who stay!).

General Blackburn Suh,
Bet you wished that you were living a bit further south, with the cold snap and all. I used to live up in Greensboro about six yrs ago and I know it snows and gets cold up that away. Now I live as they say south eastern NC just outside of Wilmington. My wife loves the beach and when I got a chance to move closer we moved, myself I love the mountains but as you can see who won out and she's a Yankee. I'm also surrounded by them, I live in a small subdivision and out of 9 homes seven are relocated Yankees [:(!] either from New Jersey or Michigan [V]. So I guess that makes them DAMN YANKEES [}:)]
