To all who shall see these presents, greeting:

Congratulations Joe, now you're a General.

Just remember those famous words of Gen Meade upon receiving orders to assume command of the AoP, "Well, I've been tried and condemned without a hearing and I suppose I shall have to go to the execution."[:)]

You are all too kind! But I suspect that I may have been the victim of a conspiracy to chain me to the computer at the expense of my wife's affections! I asked her if she'd like to have one of my stars, but she said "NO!" Then, when I asked her if she would like to join me in a rousing chorus of "Marching Through Georgia", she walked away in disgust!

You gotta work on it. After four years of intensive exposure to wargaming and war stories at dinner I have managed to get my wife interested both in war movies and in Civil War marching tunes. In fact we have started to watch my favorite war movies a second time, which I think is quite a feat seeing how the first time she rather grudgingly agreed to sit them out with me on the couch. Yet now she claims that she starts to understand my fascination and even appreciates the movies.

General "Gentleman Joe" Meyer, congratulations on your promotion, your army command and your kind and understanding better half.

If I had offered SWMBO a "star", I know that its placement would have hurt! [:0][B)][B)]
