So I haven't been that active with the games but just picked up Chancellorsville and there are a LOT of optional rules. Is there a standard set of optional rules people normally use for the battles?

We've had a recent thread on that, and General Whitehead posted a response that needs to go into the club FAQ files somewhere. He nailed the Optional Rules question.

Optional rule #1:
All Confederate troops must charge General Golen's lines backwards.

Note: While this rule does take advantage of the Rebel diet,[xx(] it's impact on Union nostrils is offset by defensive fire results.

Recommendation: This rule should always be checked when playing General Golen.[:p]

Start with the Nov.17,2009 post by Waylon Hughes. Kennon Whitehead eleborates on some of the options but not all. I believe there is a post where he addresses most if not all of them but I haven;t found it yet. On another post, he mentions the possibility of designing a better Gettysburg Campaign. I wonder if he ever started on it.

Try this:

Also, it is customary to post your name, rank, etc on your posts, as you see others doing.

General Golen <salute>

Sir, I have no cavalry in our current High Tide battle; should I use the caisson mounts? [8D]

I did a search on RULES and included the archived posts. Any message that has no activity in a few months is usually archived and is available from searches. You use the SEARCH function on the top right of this screen.
