American Civil War Game Club (ACWGC)

I guess we're all used to units routing in the most nonsensical way--usually straight away from the own lines & into the teeth of the enemy's defenses--(and then refusing to come back, claiming they "can only move away from the enemy" when that's exactly what they're declining to do).

How refreshing to see a unit rout in a way that not only seems indicative of some common sense, but, lo and behold!, outright smart! In our present MP game I have just seen a regiment rout out of complete isolation on the wrong side of a creek. It passed the ZOC's of three units, cunningly sidestepped one hex to avoid being trapped against the creek, entered a forested road, and crossed a bridge (!) to safety behind our own lines. I definitely have to commend the 62nd PA (2/1/V) for its smart routing.

Now why can't they all behave that way?

Has to be the result of my suggesting the academy courses that I recently suggested.....I'll give credit where credit is due....I did not think Yankees could learn anything that quickly....I stand corrected....The "Advanced Routing 4.01 Course" taught at West Point by the esteemed Professor Lobster must be a groundbreaking success for you guys......

Perhaps Major General Ringbloom was on the field with the 62nd PA... cause that boy is super sharp and awfully slippery at times! Why I have seen him fall off of a ladder in a way that would embarass even the most skilled acrobats! [:p]

Thank goodness... they don't all behave that way! I'd probably never win a battle again! Though after that last whipping I received at the hands of Lt General Blackburn... I know I'm going to be stinging for awhile! [;)]

What really happened was they were so frightened by the Rebs closing in from every side that they dropped everything and started running so fast that they took flight. They didn't retreat through the ZOC's, they flew over them and didn't even need the bridge because they walked on water they were going so fast. Our men, startled by the sight and having no bird shot loaded in their guns, simply stared in amazement as they flew by. [:D][:D][:D]

I'm afraid you're mistaken, the 62nd Pa consisted of Companies A, B, F, G, H, K, and L, which were recruited in Allegheny county, C, and E in Clarion, I in Jefferson, and M in Blair. Punxsutawney is in Indiana county.[8D]
