UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Washington,
March 22nd, 2010

Maj. Gen. David Groce

To all who shall see these presents, greeting:

Know ye, that reposing special trust and confidence in the patriotism, valor, fidelity, and abilities of David Groce I have nominated, and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, do appoint him a Lieutenant General in the service of the United States, to rank as such from the Twenty-Second day of March, Two Thousand and Ten.

He is therefore carefully and diligently to discharge the duty of Lieutenant General by doing and performing all manner of things thereon belonging. And I do strictly charge and require all officers and soldiers under his command to be obedient to his orders as Lieutenant General. And he is to observe and follow such orders and directions, from time to time, as he shall receive from me, or the future President of the United States of America, or the General or other superior officers set over him, according to the rules and discipline of war. This commission to continue in force during the pleasure of the President of the United States, for the time being.

Given under my hand, at the City of Washington, this the Twenty-Second day of March, in the Year of our Lord, Two Thousand and Ten.

Thank you kindly sir, I believe I now have the honor of holding the worst combat record of any officer of equal rank, but will strive to improve on that, and see that no officer under my command holds a like honor. Drinks are on me, even for any butternut officer that comes this way.

My <SALUTE> to you, Lieutenant General Groce! An officer's combat record does not always reflect the true character of the man. I often feel so sorry for my opponents, that I allow them possibly more victories than I should; a situation that I'm sure you've experienced! But then, I suppose that you'd never make it to the point thresholds for promotion were that consistently the case. Still, we must all comport ourselves as gentlemen in our dealings with those abiding South of the Mason Dixon Line.

Congrats Lt. General Groce! I'll have me some of those free drinks that you speak of. While I prefer to mooch off of General Thompson, far be it from me to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Best wishes!

Congratulations Lt. General Groce! What are records? Mere numbers, meaningless compared to the hours of enjoyment you have spent with your fellow club members. Play on! You still need to reach the rank of General.[:D]

Lt General Groce,
David,

Congratulations, Sir! It's great to hear of your promotion! You are very well liked in the Confederate Camp... regardless of your Win-Loss Record!

Could I have a different glass, Sir? This one seems to have Rusty's lipstick on it! [;)]
