I've been out of ACWGC action for 8 years... I would like to rejoin, but would like to know relative #'s... do we need Union dudes or Confederates? I'm a tweener... served the union before the war... but alas, I was born in Norfolk VA.

Best

Hatchet Jack

I think the Union could use you more, it seems rebs are always complaining about it being hard to find a yank to fight.

Mr Jack any returning member of the ACWGC is most welcome, however before you make a choice on which side to join, I must point out some of the many evils of unionism as follows:
1. It generally attracts fellows of a less than handsome nature with a poor dress sense e.g. the wearing of tall hats
2. Over time it dulls ones mind
3. It causes lead poisoning in its followers
4. It induces teetotal in its followers over time – you can’t trust a man who does not drink to excess
5. It damages ones complexion
6. It scares off good looking women
7. For more please go to www.evilsofunionism.com.us

You can be assured Mr Jack that my views are from an entirely neutral perspective

If you think you can meet the rigors of training that takes place at VMI http://www.acwgc.org/VMI/ then you would be welcomed to that fine Institute. The Southern Cause needs all of her Sons to defend the Homeland from the invading Yankee Horde!

Hope to see you on the training grounds!

The Confederates will do anything: lie, exaggerate, deceive, get you drunk and then put you on a slow boat to Georgia to serve in an Army without shoes!
Anyone can see that the Union has the best uniform, the best weapons (especially artillery)and are ruggedly handsome instead of those pretty boy plantation types that go around calling themselves soldiers.
Hatchet Jack, you need to join the winning side. Uncle Sam needs you!

Hatchet Jack Sir,
Cam and Nick have eloquently stated the case for joining the South and might I add that we have an overabundence of shoes, arms, artillery, horses, spirits and supplies here in the Army of Georgia for your future units needs. These were mostly captured in our recent campaigns so your unit will be well outfitted, compliments of the officers of AoG and their opponents. You will be most welcome and
well equipped.

Sir,

A man's loyalty should be to his state in this conflict. You are a Virginian! There should be no question!

Just because your state makes a bad decision does not mean you should do the same. We are a nation of free thinkers and should also be free men. I am from North Carolina and can sympathize with your dilemma.

Jack,

Just so you know, Lt Gen Groce is an outcast in his own family for his bad choice to support the Union in their war for empire against the South. I shall not repeat the names (few of his relatives would even speak of him in their profound shame of his decision) that his own relatives call him. [:D]

Given the fact that many deserters from your command, tell us that you are definatly a Free thinker and a very efficient commander, I believe that you feel as you profess.....

Example of Gen Groce's efficient free thinking....One of his first acts upon taking commnad was to combine several different areas into one very efficient establishment. General groce combined, the latrines, kitchen facilities, and dining areas into one small tent. Judging by the rate of desertion among his troops, I am not sure it was the best of ideas, but it is efficient!!!! [:)]
