For those that don't frequent the Matrix forums follow link to read up on it. Still in alpha? but due this summer? http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tt.asp?forumid=808 Anyone that plays FOF will have an idea on what to expect in terms of graphics. Not much news on all the game mechanics but what there is makes very interesting reading for PBEM players. Will be interesting to see whether this turns out to be 'more game than simulation'. Yes simultaneous fire resolution for attacker and defender sounds about right as the best way to explain it. Target selection is taken out of the hands of players. I'd expect the non phasing players units to fire first but that hasn't been spelt out. I'm still waiting to see how melee or assault works in the game. It would be nice if this is also taken out of players hands. If units closed to a distance of one hex then maybe a test is made? No specific news yet on command and control or types of formations but an interesting fact released was that the scale is 75 sq yards per hex which is why I think mele might be part of the automatic fire phase? Will be interesting to see what kind of stacking...if any...they propose. I can also now see why the game has tactical features such as company commanders? Georgia the Brave |

The game is on Regimental scale, so I am relatively sure there will be some kind of stacking......This game could be great.....Could be a disaster.....Just according to what they come up with.....I'm looking forward to it..... BG Hank Smith Army of Georgia Smith's Corp Commanding |
