For me it is a tossup between Antietam and Shiloh. Very, very well kept without the commercialism of G'Burg. G'burg just a pinch below the top two.

I agree with Bill on Saratoga. Being only 2 hours away I make that a yearly tradition during my May vacation.

The La Fayette Road runs through Chickamauga but there is a highway that carries alot of traffic around the park. The La Fayette Road's speed limit of 30 over a 3 miles portion keeps alot of traffic away. The park is one of my favorites and a beautiful place! Shiloh is, hands down, my favorite place. Its so far from the interstates that there is no fear that yuppies will ever invade its serenity. Andersonville is another great place to visit. Just to find the site you practically need a compass and some luck. Well off the beaten path.

Respectfully,

Gettysburg is still the ultimate for me, traffic or not. Next tier is Vicksburg, Shiloh, Chickamauga and Antietam.

Shiloh is my favorite, followed by Antietam, Ft Donelson, and Chickamaugua.
