In accordance with the Orders of the Day, published this date, July 27th, 2010, the General-in-Chief of the Union Army, General D. S. Walter, takes great pleasure in hereby issuing the following commendations to those field armies whose officers have, through their combined efforts, distinguished those armies both on and off the field of combat for the first two quarters of the year.



For it's continued and sustained excellence in answering the monthly "Muster Call," the
<b>UNION ARMY OF THE TENNESSEE</b>
is singled out for both the first and second quarters of this year.



For their continued and sustained excellence in the prosecution of this war, both the
<b>UNION ARMY OF THE SHENANDOAH</b>
and the
<b>UNION ARMY OF THE CUMBERLAND</b>
are each singled out for both the first and second quarters of this year.

The General-in-Chief expresses his pleasure and approbation in recognizing the deportment, commitment and military success of these armies, noting that their achievements are the result of consistent and determined contributions of their cadres, and that such performance can only foreshawdow and signal the ultimate defeat of this Rebellion and a complete and permanent restoration of the Union!
