So which of these is everyone's LEAST favorite? I'm thinking Income Tax will win hands down! |

Sir, An intersting list , and food for thought. However, I beleive that HMS Warrior (launched 1860) came into service before the US and CSA ironclads. As a Brit, I couldn't let that one go! Perhaps the list was referring to the first [i]combat[i] between ironclads. I also hear that some other people across the English Channel may have got in there first and managed to launch one before all of us... but let's not go there. |

Sorry James, but France launched "La Gloire" in 1859 but Britain had decided to go all armour by 1861. |
