My Xp computer is giving me problems on games or turns....We are both on the same update in Corinth...Just finished playing a regular game with him...Tried to start a campaign game and get "error reading battle files".."error writng battle files after I click on the see replay....get black screen with one hex colored...I tried 5 times to get the campaign going without success..Been happening to me on other games....I have cleaned the xxx and yyy files....sometimes I get this screen after many turns in the game....I can fix this by adding the file mutiple times.....maybe on the second or third time I load the file into the game it will play.....Is it me.....the computer......or those Yanks messing with me and giving me bogus files...Is any one else having this problem...could this be also caused by files that are not zipped....I get many files this way...I just don't know when this is going to happen when I start a turn..Thanks

I have had the same problem from time to time. I have found that going back and recopying the last game file recieved into the game folder has corrects the problem for me. I swear I copy and move the game file the same way each time . I seemed to have this problem more with large unzipped files. If all else fails I blame it on sun spots.

Once you determine you both are on the same Version, both players should delete these extraneous files:
All .XXX and .YYY
Any .BTO, BTC.

AND then re-download the game files. As Gen Baker has said, sometimes UNZIPPED files have problems.

There seems to be a LOT of members that DO NOT ZIP files, anymore and that can be a problem.
