I am pleased to announce that the General-in-Chief has approved the appointment of Major General John Lytwak, from Commander 3(2Cav)/XVI Corps to Commander, XV Corps, Army of the Tennessee. I have designated April 20, 2011 as the official date for General Lytwak to assume command of XV Corps.

Please join me in congratulating John on his new command and wish him well as he continues his march to the sea!

Major General Lytwak,

My old foe, it hard news indeed to learn that the US War Department has placed an entire Corp in the hands of such a capable officer as yourself. It will make the long sought victory of Southern Arms that much more difficult to obtain. I fear that another year will pass and still no end to ACWGC PBEM will be in sight.

Warm regards,

My sincere humble thanks to the General for his leadership of our command. We will miss him as a Corp Commander, but the Army of the Tennessee will continue to carve up the South. A very worthy promotion for a fine officer.
