My new PC is running windows 7 64 bit OS. I installed my only title, John Tiller's HPS Gettysburg. Version 1.0 is up and running but I can't get the patch, Gettysburg 105 exe installed.
The website says to save the file to the desktop and then extract it to Campaign Gettysburg. I don't have the WinZip program installed but when I open Gettysburg 105 exe I get a "WinZip self-extractor" window that unzips the files to Campaign Gettysburg by default.
I've downloaded this several times and it claims to overwrite the old files each time but the version is still 1.0 and not updated to 1.04 per help-about. If anyone else has had this problem and can walk me thru the solution, I'd be very grateful.

Hi Bill,

HPS advises that for Windows 7 the games are downloaded to an alternative location of your own I.E. - c:\games, rather than the default path - c:\program files. Is it possible that you have done this. If this is the case then you have to ensure that when unzipping the patch you alter the path to match your own where you installed the game as it will always unzip to the default path.

Thanks a lot, John. Your solution worked like a charm :D It's nice to know someone's got you back just when you're hitting the wall.

Good to know that it worked Bill, I've been caught with that one before. Glad to be of assistance, enjoy your gaming.
