Looked just to make sure it was a battle re-enactment and not that same story you always tell about you losing your horse to Capt. Ball in that poker game.

I see that you’ve sobered up some, General Nelms, but you only remember parts of the story regarding Capt Ball. What actually happened was that my bestest friend in the whole world, Capt Bluff Ball, and I were out partying together in the part of Washington that seems to have the least amount of clothes. We came upon a woman laying in the grass behind a park bench that apparently was the poorest of them all as she had no clothes on at all. This woman weighed 350 pounds if she weighed an ounce and thus had more bulges than a young Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Capt Ball and I became intrigued by the woman, and being the dashing, good looking, sexy young men that we were, we each bet our horse that the woman would take a liking to one of us over the other. I went first and poked her a few times in the side, cheek, and stomach with my finger and all that I got was a curt glance from the lady. Having given up on the lady ever showing any affection in my direction, I relented to Capt Ball so that he could waste his time trying to earn her affections as well.

Bluff stepped up and straddled the lady, bent over and poked her one time in the side with his finger. She looked up at him with this big toothless smile and as she rolled over, Bluff disappeared from sight. When the earth stopped shaking, there was no sign of Capt Ball. I got help and rolled her over but the only thing that I could find was Bluff’s kepi. No one ever heard from Bluff again.

So, I gave my horse and Bluff’s kepi to his family. To refresh your memory, I did not lose my horse in a poker game but in a poke her game.

Funny, I was there when you told the missus about the missing horse and I'm pretty sure it was a poker game.
