I have not been able to get the TALONSOFT BG games to work in WIN7.
I made the same option as Capt Hawkins and purchased the Matrix update games and they work fine.

Thank you gentlemen, looks like that's what I'll have to do.

What about the HPS games? I'm trying to load HPS Shiloh on a machine with Windows 7. When I click on the 'Install' option, the window just shuts down. :(

Thanks, Ernie. I already looked at that. I don't see anything about my situation, though.

I'm thinking I should contact Rich.

I guess the first question is how old a version are you running from the DVD? And are you installing from a DVD?

Not knowing the answer I will give a suggestion assuming the answers are yes. Some game versions just won't run under Win 7 so you need to change the compatibility settings. If you are installing from a DVD copy the entire DVD to the hard drive then install from you hard drive. Here is what I suggest:

1. Create a folder anywhere but in the "Program Folders" for the dvd copy.
2. Copy everything on the dvd to that folder.
3. Create a game folder anywhere but in the "Program Folders" for the game install.

I recommend that you have a D: partition and use it for all this. If you don't create a top level folder on your C: drive to contain all your working programs and files.

4. Go to the dvd copy and start trying to install form ther by executing the program:
"install.exe"
5. If it won't run right click on the file name "install.exe" and select "Properties".
6. From the dialog window that opens select the "Compatibility" tab and start experimenting with settings until something works when you execute the "install.exe"

If all else fails this might work but I haven't tried it in a long time.
1. Create a place for your games like before. I always set up something like:
"D:/Games" to contain all my games and avoid Win 7 security issues.

2. Go to the "Campaign Shiloh" folder on your dvd. Right click on the folder and choose copy.
3. Go to your Games folder using Windows Explorer and right click on the empty space on the right for the folder. Choose "Paste".

This will put a copy of all the files on the dvd but the install on your harddrive.

4. Go to the HPS site and download the latest patch files and install them to this new folder.

5. Run the game from this folder by selecting the executables:
cp_start.exe to run Campaign game
cpi.exe to run the battle game (this name changes slightly for each game)

If this works just create your own shortcuts.
