I started two separate Ozark Campaign Games with Rebel Opponents and within a few hours and a couple of emails exchanges the campaign(s) were over WITHOUT ONE BATTLE?!!!?
One Campaign ended with a Union victory. The other with a Confederate, without a single battle. This is one aspect of the HPS Civil War Series and other Series' such as Napoleonic that is quite frustrating. You can go an entire Campaign and not fight one battle!?!?! It's a bit ridiculous.

There needs to be a fix for this or if I'm in luck, has one been produced yet ? or is there a way around this engine issue?

I've never had that problem, would be interesting to see the files or set up a campaign with you to test what you are experiencing. Are you checking the "use expected values" box, this would give the result you describe.

Issue has been resolved. In fact, it was because I was checking the "Use Expected Values" option..Thanks David!

I'm still confused as to why anyone would want to use that option if it totally stops you from actually fighting in any of the battles and simply simulating the Campaign????

Robert,

The only time I can see how it is useful to use the expected values is if you wanted to quickly get a feel for the flow of a campaign, or want to skip a battle to see what some of the later battles might look like when there are multiple campaign branches, without having to play through them to get to that stage, or finding out what the scenario names are from the campaign editor and opening them outside the campaign game.

When you get the Campaign Game Message that precedes each battle, if you click the Cancel button it will override the automatic resolution of the battle and instead open up the main program so you can see or play that battle. So in this way you have an option to open up the battle or let it be resolved automatically. It isn't a feature I've ever used in a competative game against an opponent.

For further clarification see the Campaign Game section of the user manual.

General Barlow,

Interesting, I didn't realize you could cancel in the middle of a Campaign and get into the "battle" itself if you'd like. Thanks for your detailed answer , Sir!!! :)

If I were to play an entire camping with an opponent or against the computer I think I'd want to play to the entire campaign to get a feel for the whole conflict. I guess if you want to jump around in a campaign you can, but its just not my cup of tea.

General Barlow Sir,

What country do you represent over at the NWC?

I was going to say- as it just so happens, we *are* on top of the world ... but never mind all of that politico-geographical nonsense -where the prime meridian runs right through (iirc) the Admiralty Bldg in London ... :D

Gentlemen, we must be kind to them, those that are so ignorant of their true place in the world!
