The Napoleonic HPS and old Talonsoft games have a feature in the "file" dropdown called "snapshot".......it creates a "bmp" file.

Does anyone know how to do this in the HPS Civil War titles?

I don't know if any of the EAW titles have 'snapshopt' either -but for that matter I had to check NB ... who knew? :)

Ok, as you observed CWB doesn't have this -and any title that doesn't have this feature - what you need to do (assuming that you are using a version of Windows), is hit your 'print screen' key (which copies the image to your clipboard (which you never actually see - but basically it serves the same function as the 'copy' command for text.

Next step call up your Paint program from within Windows (sometimes called Windows Paint -but I think that MS has changed around the name of this in various iterations of their OS. In Vista it is simply called 'Paint'.

Under 'Edit'- select 'paste' - and you should see your screenshot. Then save it and name it to wherever you like on your HD.

It is basically the first step that I do, when I create the big map screenshots (so I have done this a fair few times -possibly too many :D ).
