Gentlemen of the American Civil War Club

Our club was founded in 1997. Therefore 2012 will mark the 25th anniversary of the founding of this great organization. We are sirs - truly a venerable organization modeled by many, equaled by none.

Ok gentlemen, a few too many perhaps and weak math skills - still though 15 years is a landmark.

Don't scare me like that at this time of the morning! If 1997 was 25 years ago than I just aged by a decade! I'm still far away from being 40 and I'd like to keep it like that.

Happy 15th (and holding) Anniversary

15 years or 25 years, I'm still happy to be a member and have enjoyed my time very much.

To another 15 years!

I see some old members but no one who joined in '97. Anyone out there from the very beginning?

I always thought that Pierre Desruisseaux founded this club. He was at least its President for the first ten years. That Reb was followed in the Presidency by another Reb (D.W. Mallory) and then by another Reb (Blake Strickler). Just due to the nature of the war, shouldn't Rebs be forbidden from being President? It's embarrassing having all of the windows open when foreign royalty and diplomats visit, all because our Presidents don't wear shoes.

I know Pierre is around. He posts at the MDT from time to time. Anyone else? Maybe we can get these "Elders" to tell us about the beginnings.

Ned, there are three kinds of people in this world;

1. Those that are Rebs
2. Those that want to become Rebs
3. Those with no ambition

Wasn't it Teddy Roosevelt who bathed nude in the Potomac? And didn't he ride a moose across a river? And he's a Yankee :mrgreen: BULLY, SIR, BULLY!
