New Commander for the Army of the Mississippi

Gents...Gather Round!

I am proud to announce that Lieutenant General Jim Garnerwill be taking over as Commander for the Army of the Mississippi.

General Blake Strickler has retired as the outgoing Commander and has served in that position dutiful. He has restored the army not only into an effective fighting force but has given them a real sense of pride as well. We thank Blake for his service!

Jim comes out West from having served on the CSA National Command Staff under former CoA Willie Tisdale. I am pleased that he has agreed to join us out West (where the real fighting is) and take command of such a fine army!

This notice is signed & effective Today at the CSA Western Theater Headquarters at Chattanooga.

I can only echo General Ludwig's comments - General Stickler and his army have done the CSA proud, Blake stepped in when the AotM need him most and he has done very well. General Garner stepped up when asked - thank you Suh, the AotM is in fine hands.

Congratulations General Garner,

<salute>

Jim, the Army of the Mississippi is in good hands!

And a Hearty Thanks to General Stickler, who stepped up and took the reins of the AotM when General Hulinsky unexpectedly retired, Blake kept the army on track, did an excellent job continuing to improve the armies' moral and build members esprit de corps.

<salute>
