Gentleman of the Club:

The 150th anniversary of the Battle of Shiloh at Pittsburgh Landing is to be commemorated with a 4-day reenactment, on land adjacent to the National Military Park. I understand the site, which includes land from the actual battlefield, is to be donated to the park after the event.

For those interested in more details about the event, here is the official web site: http://shiloh150.org/home

I have registered to attend. I'll be with the CSA artillery.

Your humble servant,
Gen 'Dee Dubya' Mallory

Congratulations David--our trip there a few years ago was fantastic. Keep a clear eye. Salute.

DW,

Wish I could make it out, excellent time of the year for reenacting.

Last July at Manassas the heat and humidity was brutal...or so I was told...getting to old and fat for marching in such myself.

I’ve got a couple of friends egging me to make the 150th Sharpsburg...of course old & fat means getting new pants and jacket, artillery sounds like a good idea too, no musket to haul around.

Have a great time!

Bob,

Yes, the artillery is the way to go. The only problem is ... none of the guys want to join the after-battle parade - so the infantry & cavalry get all the accolades! :x
