Gentlemen

I very much regret having to announce the recent passing away of one of our officers Lt Col Massion. Lt Col Massion succumbed to liver cancer on Feb 23rd 2012. Lt Col Massion commanded 3/2/III/ANV. As his corps commanding officer, Gen Beacco, states "he was a good person and a classic Southern Gentlemen". Our thoughts are with his wife Jennifer and his family.

Col Massion <SALUTE>

A loss to our club and an immeasurable loss to his family.

Gentlemen of the Confederacy the uniform of the day is to include a black mourning armband for the next seven days.

My thoughts to the bereaved.

Rest easy Sir! <salute>

Our prayers are with his wife and family.

We shall meet but we shall miss him.
There will be one vacant chair.
We shall linger to caress him
While we breathe our ev'ning prayer.
When one year ago we gathered,
Joy was in his mild blue eye.
Now the golden cord is severed,
And our hopes in ruin lie.

True, they tell us wreaths of glory
Evermore will deck his brow,
But this soothes the anguish only,
Sweeping o'er our heartstrings now.
Sleep today, O early fallen,
In thy green and narrow bed.
Dirges from the pine and cypress
Mingle with the tears we shed.

Gentlemen <salute>

I never had the honor of meeting Lieutenant Colonel Massion, however reading that a fellow officer and member of the ACWGC has passed is a sad occassion. I pray he finds comfort in his new home and offer my condolences to his loved ones.

Gator Alley, Present arms!
