I'm getting ready to start a game of HPS Peninsula and I'd like to look at the users manual to refresh my memory.

Problem I'm having is I have a new Windows 7 laptop since last I played that won't allow me to open the users manual or other Help info for the game. I can see the parameter data but not the rules.

Any ideas on how this can be fixed or is there a place online where I can see the users manual and optional rules?

Any help would be appreciated.

WinHlp32.exe is required to display 32-bit Help files that have the ".hlp" file name extension. To view .hlp files on Windows 7, you need to install this application. Here is a link to the Windows website where you can download the application:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=91

hope this helps!

Afraid the power of computers is moving to fast for anything to have a significant life span. Android has gone through two or three versions in just over a year. Apps written for iPads are already breaking with the introduction of the higher resolution screen on the newest version.

Windows 9 will be Siri.

Windows 12 won't ever come because by then the Technical Singularity will have occurred and the machines will tell us what we need to know. :)

I actually found this solution a while back when I upgraded my machine - in the HPS "Windows Vista/7 Help" section. You can find it here along with the link to the help file fix for Vista:
