Hi, All,

Looks like Steven Spielberg has turned his attention to Abraham Lincoln. Looks like it will be a good movie. At least it has a good cast.

Glad to see at least one big budget movie. I was beginning to think the 150th would go by without hardly mention any where.

I'll second that............unless of course, we want to count Lincoln the Vampire Killer.

I almost feel like this would be a wonderful HBO miniseries to where they could expand it to 16 hours or something and really tell a complete story - like with John Adams or Band of Brothers. But to do it in 2 hours? It will be interesting to see the movie. Handling a Lincoln film is no easy task. Where do you separate fact from hero worship? At what point do you substitute moviemaking drama for reality?

SPOILER ALERT:
At the end of the credits Lincoln sits up from his deathbed. He has been saved by a mysterious man who promises him eternal life so he may avenge his mother's death at the hands of the vampires. Lincoln can now begin his fight to retake Washington from the blood-sucking politicians. In case you didnt notice - he lost that fight.

Another Historical Bio coming out in 2013 about Jackie Robinson.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCduxL8ELwQ

I want to see it but... really? The trailor from the movie has rap music? 1947!!! C'mon! That almost makes me question the entire movie alone. Its like watching a movie with the Confederates attacking Fort Sumter with "For Whom the Bell Tolls" (Metallica) playing in the background. Or maybe some Kid Rock jamming while Grant accepts Lee's surrender?

I think I'd rather not see more historical films than see them butcher the era by adding modern music to it. C'mon 1947! Can't they find some Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Joe Williams, Count Basie, Maxine Sullivan, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan... anyone... would be better to represent African-American culture of that era? Why transport modern rap to 1947? Blake is disappointed. He is so disappointed he is referring to himself in the third person.

There was even a song in 1949 named, "Did you see Jackie Robinson Hit that Ball" recorded by Count Basie! Blake is done ranting.
