There is concern over the welfare of General Ernie Sands, from whom there has been no communication since the latter part of August. Ernie was scheduled for a second kneee replacement surgery shortly thereafter, but we've not heard back from him at this time. Any information as to his present condition would be welcomed!

General Meyer,
I am in an Austerlitz MP game against Ernie over at NWGC Joe. His co-player Al Kling sent the following email on 09/07.

"Good Day or Evening Gentlemen,
Ernie is still recuperating and hopefully be back in the fight by our next turn."

We now await their next file.

Regards,

sometime ago I proposed "a next of kin" email to my CO.

instead of everyone running around with their hair on fire..........we could have a backup email that a CO could go to under extreme circumstances.

no one ever explained to me why this would be a bad idea.

as I explained to my CO...........I would prefer that someone at ACWGC would know I was not coming down for breakfast.

Col. Mathews,

I will say I think that this would be a wonderful thing to institute on a voluntary basis.......My opinion doesn't much count, and my support may work against you, but I still like the idea.....

My second knee surgery ( the first was in May 2012) went very well and rehab at home has been going very well, also. Next week I start out-patient physical therapy and then things should start getting back to "normal".

The GOOD NEWS is that I ONLY have TWO knees!!!!!

I am slowly getting back into action.

I have trouble sitting at my computer, but that is getting better, daily.

Maybe by this weekend, I will have caught up my game play.

What Ernie is not telling everyone is that he had to have his knees replaced because a Confederate sniper "Kneecapped" him from a little over a mile away......

Ernie,

Just so you know, the sniper was punished for violating theConfederate "Order of Protection" that has been placed with regards to you. That idiot almost lost us one of our biggest tactical advantages. I mean, after all, what if you had bled to death. It would have ben a severe blow to the south.....:).
