General Albert Sidney Johnston rallies his men at the Battle of Shiloh , April 6, 1862.
Not long after the General was mortally wounded and died on the field.

OK, what kind of weapon is that mean-looking, bearded dude on the left in the butternut shirt holding? It ain't no Enfield! And the wounded guy just below him getting a canteen drink from an "angel" looks like he may have been a sniper, judging from what we can see of the rifle lying across his legs! What kind of piece do you suppose that is?!

I see a double-barreled shotgun in there. Great for killing Yanks when they bunch up like cattle!

I agree with Blake... I believe it is a double barrel shotgun of some sort!
