Battlefield reports have reached me that Cols Fantini and Wheeler (AotS) led by Lt.Gen. Simms have decisively defeated an AotM force led by the comparable Neal Hebert, et;al. in the "Struggle for Control" on the battlefield of Gettysburg. While this battle was not a part of the Fall Offensive against the AotM, it nonetheless paves the way for our eventual victory next fall. # Cheers for Fantini, Wheeler and Simms!

Suh, my compliments!

Colonels Fantini and Wheeler fought a hell of a battle and won a hard-fought contest. The outcome has not been in doubt for some time now, however Gator Alley decided that if they were to claim a major victory they'd have to earn it first.

Casualties were heavy on both sides:
Yanks: 54720 infantry, 8826 cavalry, 67 guns, 45 officers
Rebs: 58556 infantry, 10008 cavalry, 166 guns, 52 officers

We offer our congratulations to the gentlemen and appreciate their commitment to fighting a battle that's lasted almost two years. Well done, suhs!

I wouldn't be getting all giddy and such, however. Of the "Gator Challenge" the following results have been either posted or are in progress:

Gator Scrap: Major Victory
Gator Bloom: Major Victory at the time it was canc'd
Gator Klebbe: Currently a Major Victory
Gator Oats: Major Defeat

I believe Gator Alley can rest comfortably with winning 75% of these battles. Can your army rest comfortably with the following results in your "Fall Offensive" against the Army of the Mississippi:

Confederates: 8 victories
Yanks: 1 victory
Draws: 4
Ongoing: 3 battles; 2 Conderate victories and 1 draw

I'd be a bit embarrassed to crow about 1 victory considering everything else that's occurred.

Highest regards,

Suh, my compliments!

He asked, I replied. What should I do, challenge him to a contest of armies? We just kicked the snot out of them in their "Fall Offensive". If you handle a woman in the same manner it's called "rape".

Highest regards,

Let's keep this amiable. I celebrate the victories we get as precursors to our great victory to come next fall. I would have celebrated it even if Gen. Hebert was not involved. However, as he was involved, it could only make it sweeter.
What's happened in the past is past and the only thing that counts is the future. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :)

We seem to be selective in our precursors for next fall. From our side the precursors seem to be lining up just fine
