Has there been any thought of the possibility of a "Grand Campaign" of sorts for the HPS series? I don't know how the logistics would work of putting it onto CDs and such, but something akin to what CWG used to do, where the outcome of each battle determined what battle might / would be fought next?

As an example - had Lee won at Sharpsburg, my guess is that he either would have struck deeper into the North, or would have potentially marched on Washington, D.C So it might be nice to have a option after Antietam that, with a CSA Major Victory for example, the next battle might be fought at Gettysburg, but with either a Confederate advantage in manpower or both sides roughly even. Similarly, had the North won at 1st Mannassas, it seems likely that a battle for Richmond would have been occurring shortly thereafter.

Thoughts? It seems like the only variation that exists with the current game is that you might/might not have a different force makeup in the next battle, but that's it. I know they were probably trying to focus more on the historical aspect, rather than creating "what-if" battles, but something different for the campaign aspect might have been nice...

All the games have a Campaign Editor. Since Overland can accept maps from other games and you can edit the OOB's, it could do it. But you are talking about a massive undertaking.

Oh, I don't doubt it would be a massive undertaking. That's probably the other reason it wasn't done (or at least hasn't been done) by Tiller, with as many engagements as he already designed. I may have to try it one of these days, though...
