Gentlemen,

I am just taking an informal poll. Each person may select up to three options above. Feel free to add feedback below.

Thanks!

Without a doubt my first answer is relationships I have made with members of the club. I LOVE being a member of this club. Some of the finest people I know I have never met in person! Maybe I'm different, ok, I admit I'm different, but friendships I have made will keep me here for as long as the club will keep me.

I also have an abiding interest in the war and in wargaming it.

I have been a wargamer all my adult life with a compulsive interest in all things regarding history and war.

When I was younger I played board games ......sports and wargames face to face and solitare as often as I could.

The Tiller games (in my humble opinion) are not much fun without a live opponent.

I would have to say that ACWGC has been a godsend for me.......an endless supply of friends and opponents..........my only regret is that I wish I had stumbled on the club sooner.

Obviously the reason people are here is to play games and make friends. After all the main club philosophy is to meet like minded people and play games. That's why I am here to meet people and play games. Although being the clubs President sure hampers that. Why would anyone want to do that job?

The better question would be why did YOU join the ACWGC, what attracted you to it? Why do YOU keep participating in the club? Why not just join a ladder club, meet friends and play games? After all, all that is needed is an opponent finder Forum. Why is there all that other boring and tedious stuff like muster, joining sides, being in an army, silly rank and points, all the frivolous web pages that just take up people time instead of playing games? Let's get rid of all those things and just have one Forum an opponent forum. Let's just play games. Let's see what that looks like in 15 years?

Both why people join and why they stay are important, but separate, issues. Neither should be neglected nor ignored for sure. Both issues are vital to the Club's future.

I was just wondering what people would list as contributing factors to continued membership after so many years. We must be doing something right!
