Some friends and I (not all club members) are going to this.

Prior to that, on July 2, I will meet with my friend (through the club) Kelly Ross there.

If some others of you plan to be at Gettysburg around that time, maybe we could get together for dinner or something. Maybe even tour the battlefield together.

Too bad the ticket for just one day costs as much as a new game though.

We are considering this, but have not finalized our thinking, yet.

There is also another Gettysburg reenactment this year, June 27-30 http://www.bluegraygettysburg.com/
This one is being put on by the "authentic" guys, 10.00 per day spectator ticket and no parking fees kids under 13 free, spectators on Saturday and Sunday only. There will not be grandstand seating at this one...course that’s an up charge at the other.

You guys might want to look into hotel rooms near gettysburg first. the town usually gets booked solid on the anniversary of the battle and on the remembrance day weekend.
i would pick another time if you want my advice, it will take you so long to get around around due to the traffic it's not worth it in my opinion, unless you want to see a re enactment. if you want to see a re enactment i would go to the one in july, it's better. btw this is coming from a former re enactor who's done both re enactments and lives not far from gettysburg.

Thanks, Dave.

I am committed to be there then, but I appreciate the advice.

Well, Kelly Ross and I will be in Gettysburg on the 2nd. Anybody else who plans to travel probably needs to see about getting lodging now. The closest I could find a room for a reasonable price was in Hagerstown.

Hi, General,

I look forward to meeting you all. I figure about June we will work out the details of when and where we will all meet.

Hi,

The 150th anniversary of Gettysburg is less than two weeks away. For those still interested, let's set up a rendezvous. Having no idea what the traffic will be like, let me throw out the Wheatfield at 4:00 PM, July 2nd, but I am depending on folks like Dave who live near there for other (and better) suggestions.
