Post subject:  Alternative Civil War Weapons

Interesting interview about pre-Civil War "Air Rifles". One has to kind of wonder why these weren't used more. In theory it seems brilliant.

Watch the story of the "Gun from the Gods", no noise, no smoke and could continue to shoot 22 times without reloading. A 46-cal gun with a rifled barrel from Italy.

This is the gun Lewis and Clark took with them from St Louis to the Pacific Ocean and why, the man states, the Indians never were inclined to attack them.

It brings up an interesting topic about alternative Civil War weapons and the "waht ifs" if they had been used in greater numbers. Sadly, in all such topics - the south just loses the war faster :(
