Find the rest of the story above. I never fell in love with the first one.

American Civil War 2 in the making.
A word of Philippe Thibaut and Philippe Malacher, producers at AGEOD.
"As many of you know, we are currently developing ACW2, the sequel to Ageod American Civil War, widely accepted by the community of strategy gamers as a classic of the genre. So what's in you may ask? Why doing a version 2 if the first opus seems to cover the conflict well enough.

AGEOD's ACW is probably the best simulation of the Civil War on the strategic level so far. However, it has a number of flaws and some out right bugs that they didn't get to fix before shutting down on going support. Whether they will fix them in the new version it hard to say. They talk more about adding a lot of cute features so it is hard to tell.

ACW game did have the problem of a steep learning curve. You have to invest a lot of time into learning the game to make it playable. It also only worked as a full multi-year campaign. The system with its emphasis on logistics just doesn't work for short campaigns of a year or less.
