I am shocked the chefs in this Club didn't jump all over that thread with advice on how to best make the finest southern dish in the history of cuisine! I am always happy to give my opinion on the BBQ I eat but how to prepare it or what rubs, sauces, and spices to use... I don't worry about.

Well just got home and saw your note so I jumped in and gave Cameron some instructions. Figures it would take a "Yankee" to teach you Rebs how to make BBQ! :D

My mistake. Edward P Alexander did have both arms. It was a hand injury that prevented him from using binoculars so he had to use a small telescope instead. The unkind nickname "Cuss with a spy glass" was given to him by Union troops. He was highly respected among his own and his careful deployment of artillery pieces was considered decisive in a number of conflicts. He pioneered gathering intelligence from a hot air balloon and devised signal flag communications to relay information of the progress of the battle. After the war he wrote memoirs that historians consider contain some of the clearest insights into the conflict. Interestingly, he was indeed a Confederate spy master! In charge of gathering information on Washington.

Which wife was that Blake - I have had 4.5 wives (one was very short) 16 mistresses and at last count I had 14 sons (All called JEB) and 12 daughters (All called MARY). Also I think I have some children north of the MDL as I have ravished a few northern ladies (with their permission of course, being a southern gent and all), however I do not formally recognise any offspring born north of the MDL
