I have a Union Officer who wishes to play a RBCT game, one of the custom scenarios played on the special Corinth Mods set-up, but has run into a roadblock in that he cannot find a 1.01 patch.

Can anyone help?

I think it's as simple as Uninstalling the entire game and then reinstalling it. The game will not be updated off the original disk. Remember that you can't play any other Corinth games with anyone using a different version of the game at the same time.

ok..........I give up.

What does RBCT stand for?

And why again does he have to re install the game disk to update to latest patch?

Is Corinth different (I do not have it) than other titles, with respect to patches?

Corinth was the first game released and initially they did not have us locked out of creating custom scenarios using different OOBs. However, after 1.01, they did lock us out with update 1.02. Thus in order to use the custom scenarios that were written before the lock out, you have to load Corinth version 1.01. At the HPS and JTS sites, you can only find the latest update. Thus became his need for finding update 1.01 and why he has to reinstall his Corinth game in order to play the custom scenario.

Hope this explains it well enough.

For you newcomers, Corinth not only was the first game of the series, it was also all by itself for over a year and many old BG players wanted to try their favorite battles with the new system, thus the plethora of mods produced before the lockout with version 1.02

I still have the 1.01 patch on My HPS Corinth site http://home.comcast.net/~acwco_hps/
along with some other useful bmp mods for the HPS games and some custom oob files for use with some of the Corinth mods available at Brett Schulte's site.

There is a listing of scenarios at Brett Schulte's site
http://www.webring.org/l/rd?ring=cwol;i ... ACWCGDC%2F
along with some other useful information on setting up a Corinth 1.01 folder as well as some graphics mods. Unfortunately Brett's site has not been updated for years and the links to my site there are no longer good.

To be honest I would not care to use Corinth 1.01, it lacks all of the optional rules and updates added to the engine since then as well as a few bug fixes.

We were told that once the series had run it's course the game engine would be unlocked.

I understand Campaign Overland is currently not locked down. Personally with all the titles available now it makes little sense to me create mods for battles/campaigns that are already available. Of course it would be nice to be able to create custom OOB files for a scenario for what if mods, I did that with Corinth 1.01 for the moderated MP games I ran some years back. I also recall a tournament back in the BG only days where the scenario used had an oob that actually used the club oob and the officer's names of members of the opposing club armies and some of them even supplied personal pictures that were used in the officer's bmp files, made for some interesting play.
