I first read the book in the mid-seventies, and even then could picture actors playing the parts. Most of the actors I pictured were dead or retired by the time they made the movie, but Sam Elliot made the cut.

<SALUTE> Gen Elkin My compliments..... I thought the acting was better...particularly Stephen Lang I was disappointed with Martin Sheen as Lee in Gettsyburg also I thought they had an opportunity to make it more realistic (G&G's) ...... to add to the movie
