An interesting story and the movie remains the best Civil War movie made:

I first read the book in the mid-seventies, and even then could picture actors playing the parts. Most of the actors I pictured were dead or retired by the time they made the movie, but Sam Elliot made the cut.

I had Victor French down for Meade. My last thought would have been to have a dumb and dumber down for Chamberlain, but he did a great job!

I believe "Gods and Generals" to be the better movie.

Lt. Gen. Miller <salute>

An interesting observation as I was very disappointed with Gods and Generals the movie. I did like the book.

Why do you think it was superior to Gettysburg?

<SALUTE>
Gen Elkin

My compliments.....

I thought the acting was better...particularly Stephen Lang
I was disappointed with Martin Sheen as Lee in Gettsyburg
also I thought they had an opportunity to make it more realistic (G&G's) ...... to add to the movie
