Nice job again, Blake!
Trivia question for the good of the order:
What same regiment started two of the biggest battles of the war, one in the east and one in the west?

Interesting picture of Burnside. Was catching up on my Civil War Talk radio episodes today and they had a guy on who had written about both Battles of Fredricksburg and he lays a part of the blame for Marye's Heights on Franklin for not understanding and following Burnside's real intentions to attack in the south and just have a holding action on the heights. Of course part of that can be laid on Burnside for not writing clear orders. Guy was a journalism professor and said he used Burnside's orders as an example of how not to write something clear and concise.

As always thanks for the kind words.

Special mention of thanks to John Ferry and to Clinton Matthews for their time and contributions! The newspaper is supposed to be for all of the members and I enjoy the volunteers who come to me with ideas or offers to do interviews. Please contact me at anytime if you wish to contribute an article, idea, or to have a quick interview.

Blake, I am surprised you did not mention Harrison Ford's Civil War movie. It was 'Journey to Shiloh' and came out in 1968. I wonder how many of us have seen it? As the movie was somewhat less than riveting I imagine not many, and even less would bother to remember the experience.

Nice work Blake. I can even forgive you for rooting for the Blackhawks, I think.

Another excellent edition, and we always look forward to them.
